AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
FOR THE LEEWARD ISLANDS AND BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS
ISSUED BY ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA METEOROLOGICAL SERVICES

15:45 UTC JULY 20 2019

DISCUSSION:   A WEAK TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE WAS EVIDENT ACROSS THE BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS THIS MORNING AND THIS ALONG WITH AVAILABLE MOISTURE TRIGGERED BRIEF CLOUDINESS AND SHOWERS TO THAT AREA. THE REST OF THE REGION SAW MOSTLY FAIR SKIES WITH NO REPORTED CLOUDINESS AND SHOWERS. THE AIRMASS REMAINS LOW ON MOISTURE UNDER A SUBSIDENCE PATTERN. THERE IS SOME HOPE OF SHOWERS OVER THE NEXT TWENTY FOUR TO THIRTY SIX HOURS AS A WEAK TROPICAL WAVE WILL ENTER THE REGION AND TRIGGER BRIEF CLOUDINESS AND SHOWERS. THE LATEST MODEL GUIDANCE IS CONSISTENT WITH THE PREVIOUS FORECAST.
