The Eastern Caribbean Forecast valid up to 8am Saturday 4th July 2009.

Wx: A tropical wave moving in tandem with an upper level trough will cause cloudy to overcast skies with scattered to numerous showers today and tonight across the Windwards, Barbados and Trinidad&Tobago. Some outbursts of thunderstorms are also expected over and around these islands. Meanwhile a second tropical wave moving across Hispaniola will encourage a few cloudy spells with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the islands today, particularly Haiti. The rest of the Eastern Caribbean will be dominated by strengthening Atlantic high pressure and hence mostly dry and windy conditions are anticipated today for the Leewards, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Only some light quick passing showers are possible.

Winds: NE-E at 14-22kts over land and increasing to near 26kts over open waters..

Seas: Locally rough waves 1.8 to 2.4m or 6-8ft. Warnings continue for small craft operators and sea bathers..

Barometric Pressure: Above normal.
